Overview:
Mill Pond Veterinary Clinic has been serving clients and patients in the Quakertown community for over 25 years. We are focused on creating close relationships with our clients as we help them make the best decisions for their pet's preventative and medical care. MPVC offers a vast range of care from veterinary services and physical therapy to daycare, boarding and training.
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician to join our rehabilitation team. This role focuses on helping dogs recover from surgery, injury, chronic conditions, and sports conditioning through therapeutic exercises, physical therapy modalities, and supportive care. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal recovery, attentive to detail, and enjoys working closely with both patients and pet owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing canine rehabilitation and physical therapy treatment plans
- Perform therapeutic exercises, stretching, and mobility work with canine patients
- Operate rehabilitation equipment such as underwater treadmills, laser therapy, and ECSW
- Monitor patient progress and document treatment sessions accurately
- Assist veterinarians during evaluations and rehabilitation assessments
- Educate pet owners on at-home exercises and recovery plans
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of rehabilitation equipment and treatment areas
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout therapy sessions
Qualifications:
- Veterinary Technician certification or equivalent experience preferred
- Certification in Canine Rehabilitation or working toward certification (CCRP,??)
- Strong animal handling skills, particularly with dogs recovering from surgery or injury
- Excellent communication and client education skills
- Ability to lift and assist dogs of varying sizes
- Passion for animal wellness and recovery
