About the Role

Park Maitland School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Middle School Math Teacher to join our faculty team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics instruction, a passion for working with middle school students, and a commitment to academic excellence.

The teacher will design engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons for students in grades 68, helping them build conceptual understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills in mathematics. This role requires strong classroom management, the ability to differentiate instruction, and a dedication to fostering curiosity and intellectual growth in young learners.

You will also

  • Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics lessons for students in grades 68.
  • Promote conceptual understanding and real-world application of mathematical principles.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, readiness levels, and interests of students.
  • Assess student learning through both formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and support academic growth.
  • Foster a classroom environment built on respect, collaboration, and intellectual risk-taking.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support students academic progress and confidence in mathematics.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom updates.
  • Integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and strengthen the middle school program.
  • Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as an engaged member of the community.
  • Model the mission and values of Park Maitland School through professionalism, reflection, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in mathematics or middle school education.
  • Previous teaching experience in a middle school setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in middle school math instruction and adolescent development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment.
  • Proficiency in using technology to support instruction and student learning.
  • Commitment to professional growth, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
