Paragon Prep
We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic individuals to serve as elementary school summer camp counselors for our upcoming summer program. As a summer camp counselor, you will be responsible for supervising and engaging a group of children in various activities and programs. You will work alongside other counselors and the camp director to ensure that all campers have a safe, fun, and educational experience. This is a seasonal/temporary position for the duration of the summer camp program. The program runs from May to July, with additional training and prep time required before the start of the program.
Work Schedule
- Camp Dates: May 27th - July 31st
- Regular hours vary between 7:30 AM 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of activities and programs.
- Implement and lead age-appropriate activities, including but not limited to games, sports, and arts and crafts.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment for all campers.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities and games.
- Provide guidance and support to campers to ensure they have a positive experience.
- Communicate with parents and guardians as needed.
- Assist with camp set-up and take-down as needed.
- Attend all training and staff meetings.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have experience working with children.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be enthusiastic, responsible, and reliable.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a child abuse clearance check.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with children in a camp or similar setting preferred.
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing situations
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred, but not required)
- Must be able to stand, walk, and run for extended periods of time.
