LSF is seeking a talented Refugee Case Manager who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

Purpose and Impact:

The Refugee Case Manager will provide trauma-informed case management intakes, assessments, services and referrals to assist refugee/entrant clients to reach their goals. These goals include successful integration, gainful employment, personal financial responsibility (to facilitate basic needs such as food, clothing, housing and personal health. The Case Manager-Refugee monitors and evaluates client progress and adjusts service plan and/or delivery as necessary. If assigned to a residential facility, this is a direct care position.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive case management services to program participants by researching community partners and making referrals to appropriate social service agencies, community-based organizations and/or social service providers.
  • Recruit program participants through internal referrals and outreach to eligible individuals.
  • Complete eligibility screenings for all participants recruited by or referred to the program.
  • Conduct comprehensive intakes for all participants determined eligible for the program.
  • Develop goal-oriented, client-centered self-sufficiency plans with each enrolled program participant, addressing their long- and short-term needs and goals.
  • Provide extended/enhanced cultural orientation workshops to program participants as needed.
  • Guide program participants through referrals, providing follow up, check-ins and assistance, ensuring all services are linguistically and culturally appropriate.
  • Screen for direct participant financial assistance eligibility in accordance with funders requirements for basic needs, direct assistance practice, facilitate disbursement and conduct all necessary follow-up and associated financial reporting.
  • Maintain regular contact and positive rapport with all program participants.
  • Collaborate closely with other LSF case managers to facilitate program enrollment of referred participants and coordinate services to dual-enrolled participants.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to and communication with volunteers matched with clients for English tutoring, career mentorship and more, as needed.
  • Participate in community coordination, capacity building and partnership development activities in the service area.
  • Complete case notes and required assessments in online database in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Maintain comprehensive case files for each enrolled participant, ensuring client confidentiality and protection of personally identifiable information.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of programmatic requirements.
  • Attend internal and external resettlement agency workshops and trainings centered on trauma-informed case management, vulnerability support, community-based mental health support, economic self-sufficiency and more.
  • Trains, supervises and supports program Interns and volunteers.
  • Prepares reports as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Functions:

  • Position may focus on developing client employability skills and associated self-sufficiency plans, to include employment training workshops and orientations; career counseling, resume building and submission of employment applications; monitoring of client compliance with goals and objectives; and relationship building and outreach to area employers to facilitate placements.
  • Position may focus on providing services to at-risk school age in the areas of academic and career counseling; serves as a liaison to school officials and districts.
  • May enter all financial transactions of the clients funds into the approved tracking system as well as accounting per procedures in a timely manner
  • May create and document check request vouchers for clients as is necessary.
  • Must possess a clean/valid Florida Driver License, reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
  • Completes inventory control data entry form, enters information in the database, and tags all the equipment and furniture regularly.
  • Provides indirect supervision of program staff and provides training if necessary.
  • Assists manager with various enforcement/compliance protocols, project management goal attainment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to travel to other counties.
  • Able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to utilize office equipment.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree and two years of experience working in a refugee and immigrant social services environment.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to community services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical assessment and analysis skills
  • Ability to work and deal a diverse group of clients.
  • Must be able to keep confidential information.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) fluency is required

Other:

Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs. Must be able to pass FBI, and Child Abuse and Neglect Checks for every state in which they have resided in the last five years.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Reports to Manager or Director
  • Must be a team player with all staff.
  • Accurate, complete and timely submission of required reports and documentation to required agencies.
  • Effective working relationship with clients (providers).
  • Adherence to LSF policies and procedures.
