Summit Skilled Solutions currently seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic for a full-time shop-based position repairing and refurbishing forklifts. This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanic who enjoys diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.

This position focuses on in-shop work, maintaining and restoring forklifts and related equipment. Candidates should have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform accurate repairs on forklifts and related equipment

• Perform preventative maintenance and refurbishment work

• Order and track parts needed for equipment repairs

• Complete service documentation including timecards, parts requisitions, and detailed descriptions of work performed

• Maintain company-owned service tools in proper working condition

• Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe

• Assist with loading and unloading forklifts and pallets from trucks

• Clean and service lead-acid forklift batteries

• Help maintain proper inventory levels of parts and supplies

• Follow all company safety procedures and utilize proper safety equipment

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a forklift mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or automotive mechanic

• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and service guides

• Must have your own mechanic tools required for the trade

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organization and time management abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
