Purpose and Impact:

The Operations Manager Serves on the CMO leadership team and actively participates in operational planning, performance improvement, and the daily management of operations. Tracks, monitors, and facilitates the timely permanency of children with the intent purpose of expediting reunification or other permanency options. Works collaboratively with case management, partners, and stakeholders, to identify and coordinate critical tasks needed to affect permanency, develops strategies to mitigate risk and promote child safety, and actively works to eliminate potential barriers to permanency.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees supportive functions to promote permanency for case management team including direct supervision of operations specialists, background screening, and court liaison.
  • Maintains accurate log of all children in Out of Home Care with updated permanency status and actions taken/planned to expedite safe exit from care.
  • Prioritizes permanency efforts and creates focus on children projected as potentially able to safely exit care in the next 90 days.
  • Works in collaboration with case managers to ensure activities needed to be accomplished in order to affect reunification or other suitable permanency options are completed timely.
  • Participates in and/or facilitates permanency staffings and follows up to ensure agreed upon tasks are completed timely.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to remove barriers to permanency.
  • Initiates, implements and maintains quality assurance activities including case reviews, preparation of data and performance reports as directed by Program Director.
  • Participates in a variety of staff conferences and meetings.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with funders, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for carrying cell phone 24 hours a day/7days a week. On call for emergencies.

Other Functions:

Performs all other duties within reason as assigned by Program Director.

Physical Requirements:

Must have a high level of energy, be adaptable to irregular hours, able to travel as needed. Ability to drive, use phone, sit for long periods of time, use computer for long periods of time.

Education:

Masters Degree in Human Services field with 2 years of experience directly related to child welfare dependency system. A Bachelors Degree may substitute for educational requirement with 3 years of child welfare experience.

Experience:

  • Must have 3 years of direct child welfare experience (child protect investigations, case management, childrens legal services, etc.) including experience reviewing case work and conducting staffings.
  • Some supervisory experience is preferred. Previous quality assurance experience strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Must have in depth knowledge of Floridas child welfare practice and protocols and possess strong data analytic skills.
  • Must be well organized, able to work effectively with others, good communicator and loyal team player.
  • Must have the ability to utilize state data systems (i.e. FSFN), track and analyze data, and prepare data reports.
  • Dependability, discretion, good judgment and decision making are a must.
  • Must possess innovative and solution-focused problem solving skills

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Reports to Program Director.
  • Team player with co-workers, administrators, funders, and community stakeholders.
  • Accurate, complete and timely submission of required reports.
  • Adherence to all quality assurance standards.
  • Effective and efficient staff and case supervision.
  • Adherence to agency policies and procedures.
