Job Description


HTI is recruiting experienced Boiler Maintenance Technicians for a large statewide service company. This company provides boiler service to industrial facilities, and these positions are full-time/direct hire. The total annual pay (including potential overtime) will be between $75,000 - $145,000/year.   • The Boiler Maintenance Technicians can be based in either Columbia, SC, Charleston, SC, or Greer, SC
  • These positions include travel to customer facilities within the assigned metropolitan area
  • The company provides a vehicle for service trips, a fuel card, and a company cell phone; they also provide per diem for overnight travel if required

Requirements:
  • Must have 3+ years of experience as a Boiler Technician, performing installations, maintenance and repairs; experience with industrial boiler systems preferred
  • Must have both electrical and mechanical experience
  • Ability to lock out/tag out, drain, operate, troubleshoot, inspect, and test hot water/steam boilers
  • Lubrication, pneumatics, piping/plumbing repair, HVAC fundamentals, belt replacement, electrical schematics, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to interpret operating/maintenance manuals for different types of equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Strong customer service and written/verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record with no major infractions
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • This company requires a drug screening

Job duties include:
  • Perform maintenance/service on industrial boilers, heat exchangers, and other boiler plant equipment
  • Inspect equipment to identify and diagnose operational problems
  • Perform repairs and replace parts (gaskets, controls, etc.)
  • Perform periodic preventative maintenance inspections
  • Troubleshoot and repair burners
  • Install new low-emissions burners
  • Retrofit boiler controls, including PLC, microprocessor, and instrumentation component/systems
  • Commission, troubleshoot and adjust combustion on a variety of burners and boilers
  • Document replacement parts required for repairs, and provide detailed written documentation on the repair services that were provided
  • Request parts and materials needed to complete repairs/maintenance work
  • Transport materials and parts to customer locations
  • Document all activities and submit paperwork daily on all work performed
