Overview

Slalom is modernizing and consolidating our clients provider data platform to reduce inconsistencies caused by copying data into multiple downstream systems and to improve the speed and accuracy of provider profile updates. The program includes (1) migrating data/ETL from onprem SQL Server to Databricks, (2) building AI use cases to generate/improve provider data, and (3) delivering an internal web application for provider profile change management and selfservice updates.

We're hiring a handson AI Engineer / Technical Lead to own Workstream 3-the internal web app-delivering an initial build in a compressed timeline while coordinating closely with architects leading the data/ETL and AI workstreams.

What You'll Do

  • Lead delivery of the internal provider data web app that enables administrators and providers to update profiles (including department head workflows).
  • Drive specdriven development: convert existing backlog + wireframes into clear specifications using Spec Kit / specfirst methods to accelerate delivery and reduce rework.
  • Apply AIaccelerated engineering practices to increase throughput while maintaining code quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Lead a small distributed team (3 developers) with strong execution cadence: task breakdowns, code reviews, and delivery accountability.
  • Collaborate crossworkstream to ensure the app aligns with platform/data architecture and the AI use cases improving provider data.
  • Build handson across the stack as needed (app architecture, APIs/integrations, frontend/backend contributions).

What You Bring (Required)

  • Proven experience building and shipping modern internal web applications in enterprise environments.
  • Strong technical leadership: leading a small engineering team, making pragmatic architecture decisions, and delivering on tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability with specdriven development (specfirst, living specs as the source of truth).
  • Comfort using AI coding/engineering assistants and AIaccelerated workflows to speed delivery without sacrificing quality.
  • Experience integrating with data platforms and/or partnering with data/AI architects (Databricks context helpful).
  • Prior work modernizing legacy / onprem data ecosystems (SQL Server cloud/data lakehouse patterns).
  • Vue.js (frontend), C# (backend)

Nice to Have

  • Experience in healthcare or regulated data environments.
  • Familiarity with provider data, profile management, taxonomy/credentialing concepts.
  • Azure infrastructure experience
