Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires strong knowledge of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient health and comfort. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to deliver comprehensive oral health services in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting.

Duties

  • Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
  • Conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
  • Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using appropriate aseptic techniques
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
  • Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Review and update medical records accurately in EMR systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures and provide reassurance as needed
  • Maintain infection control standards by adhering to sterilization protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning and documentation review
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with medical coding standards for billing purposes

Experience

  • Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state licensure
  • Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics preferred
  • Proficiency with dental office software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and medical terminology
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry and pediatrics is a plus
  • Familiarity with medical imaging equipment and techniques for patient assessment
  • Previous experience in dental assisting or chairside assisting is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management
  • Ability to perform comprehensive patient care while demonstrating professionalism and compassion
