Industrial Hygienist (Hybrid)

Carnow, Conibear & Assoc., Ltd. (Carnow Conibear) is a leading environmental, health, and safety consulting firm located in downtown Chicago. We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Hygienist to join our team and support a wide range of environmental health projects.

This position is an excellent next step for an environmental or industrial hygiene professional looking to grow their technical skills, expand their field experience, and progress toward advanced certifications or senior roles.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will support our Certified Industrial Hygienist and contribute to diverse environmental health and safety projects, including:

• Conducting surveys for noise, airborne contaminants, and other occupational exposures
• Performing indoor air quality and mold investigations
• Preparing client proposals and project scopes
• Writing and reviewing technical reports
• Conducting respirator fit testing
• Collecting water samples for lead, copper, Legionella, and other contaminants

Qualifications:

Required

• Experience in industrial hygiene, environmental field work, or related EHS roles
• Strong technical and report writing skills
• IDPH Asbestos or Lead certifications
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (frequent local travel required)
• Ability to work independently in the field and communicate clearly with clients and team members

Preferred

• Seven or more years of IH or environmental field experience
• Progress toward CIH, or interest in pursuing certification
• Experience developing or delivering training
