GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible to help implement and maintain inventory systems, perform cycle counts and audits, problem identification, and work with the appropriate people to permanently correct inventory issues to ensure that the correct quantity of materials are available to support our reliability goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Act as liaison between auditing, planning, production, schedulers, quality control, and engineering to analyze and high potential causes of inventory inaccuracies.
- Assist in determining appropriate inventory strategies that support meeting our customer's expectations and also minimize our inventory investment.
- Communicate inventory issues with appropriate team members, such as shortages caused by adjustments, discrepancies caused by failure to define processes, BOM issues, etc.
- Count, research, and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Identify and suggest corrective action to dispose of appropriate slow moving or obsolete inventory to procurement team.
- Maintain and report key measures, perform cycle or sample counts as required, process all required paperwork (deviations and material transfers) as necessary.
- Maintain the accuracy of the systems by highlighting incorrect BOMs, validate and setup inventory records with proper codes and maintain locations.
- Offer analysis of the situation and suggest corrective course of action using spreadsheets and queries.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and lead initiatives as appropriate.
- Partner with engineering, and other teams to review requests (ECOs) to change BOMs, add or delete purchased items, setup warehouses, etc..
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
- Train teammates to follow correct inventory procedures and monitor the processes to ensure compliance.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills and Abilities
- Must have previous auditor experience.
- Good mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, ability to perform accurate error-free work.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of material flow throughout the supply chain.
- Ability to obtain material handling vehicle license.
- Works with a variety of computer programs such as Excel, Business Objects, Word, LES, BaaN/LN.
- Must be physically able to handle all incoming materials to facilitate counts.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation/communication software and tools currently being used in the HMI office environment.
- Must have demonstrated a sense of urgency and good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
