Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings for site development, including storm water drainage, sanitary sewers, waterlines, storm sewers, and supporting design information.
- Develop construction drawings and CAD models using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Assist in the design of stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer, water distribution, and roadway alignments.
- Develop surface grading plans using contours and spot elevations.
- Import and interpret survey data, aerial imagery, and GIS files.
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and other design professionals to ensure project accuracy and compliance.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in cost estimation.
- Support permitting processes by preparing documentation and responding to agency comments.
- Maintain project files and adhere to company drafting standards and QA/QC procedures.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience in civil design, site civil, grading, and stormwater design.
- 5+ years of site civil design experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of grading design, surface development, and pipe networks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Civil Engineering or related degree is a plus.
- EIT or PE certification is advantageous.
- Experience in Survey CAD is beneficial.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
