Job Description
We are looking for a Residential Assistant to joins us working at our Naperville and West Chicago Group Homes. The hours are 9:30 pm to 7:30 am Thursday through Sunday. You will be working at our West Chicago Group Home on Thursdays and at our Naperville Group home Friday through Sunday.
Working in this position, you will have the opportunity to provide life-changing assistance to adult clients, who live with behavioral health disorders. Our program focuses on teaching clients to live independently with the goal of being able to live self-sufficiently within a community. All positions provide an opportunity to make a positive difference in your community, while gaining valuable experience working in the field of Human Services.
Our starting rate is $15.65 per hour with a $2.50 per hour shift differential for working our night shift. (salary may increase due to experience) Overtime is available, however, not required. As a full-time DuPage County employee, you will be eligible for our full benefit package which includes: 12 paid holidays per year, 12 vacation days, accrued sick leave, 5 paid personal days, Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 12 weeks of paid parental leave, Tuition reimbursement and Student Loan Forgiveness. This position is also eligible for an IMRF pension.

Responsibilities
- Assists adult clients with serious behavioral health issues, in learning independent living skills using various methods of role modeling and motivational interviewing.
- Supports overall well-being of residents during overnight hours.
- Monitors medication effectiveness and may observe clients taking medications.
- Performs tasks related to maintaining environmental standards in residential facilities and vehicles.
- Maintains records according to health department policies and assists in managing clients' financial accounts.
- Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to client privacy laws.
- Participates in emergency activities as assigned.
Requirements
Must be 21 years of age. Experience preferred, but not required,
A qualified candidate must possess a valid State of Illinois Driver's license and have a good driving record. New employees must attend a (Paid) HR New Employee Orientation program on the first shift, Monday through Friday. (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) at our Central Public Health Center in Wheaton.
