Position Overview
Data Governance Specialist with 5+ years of experience in enterprise data governance practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks, including the creation of data dictionaries, glossaries, catalogs, and lineage mapping. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and accessibility of data assets, working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to align data management with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries , business glossaries , data catalogs , and data lineage documentation.
- Execute and support data cleansing initiatives to improve data quality across systems.
- Translate complex business data requirements into structured data standards, policies, and workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enforce data governance policies .
- Monitor and report on data governance metrics and compliance across business units.
- Support the development and execution of enterprise-wide data strategies .
- Conduct data analysis and generate reports using Excel and custom queries .
- Utilize Microsoft Purview , Microsoft Fabric , and Dynamics 365 (D365) to manage metadata, track lineage, and support governance processes.
- Organize and manage multiple tasks, timelines, and reporting requirements effectively.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a similar role.
- Proven experience building and maintaining data dictionaries , glossaries , catalogs , and lineage documentation .
- Strong background in data cleansing and working with large datasets .
- Exceptional ability to translate business needs into structured data management practices.
- Proficient in Excel , including pivot tables, formulas, and data visualization tools.
- Experience running data queries and performing advanced data analysis.
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Purview , D365 , and Microsoft Fabric .
- Strong technical , analytical , and communication skills .
- Highly organized , detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience contributing to or building enterprise data strategies is a strong plus.
