The General Maintenance Technician makes repairs to the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, tube and plumbing systems. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as assigned or otherwise required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining all areas of his zone. Coordinates repairs with other staff and agencies to assure compliance with local codes, guidelines, and informs supervisor of any problems.
  • Responsible for meeting required standards established around the organization's commitment to promote customer satisfaction, economics, productivity, innovation, people growth, and organizational climate.
  • Make rounds and equipment checks as required.
  • Perform painting and cosmetic repairs.

Requirements/Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or GED. Technical training in mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, and/or plumbing.

  • Licensure / Certification: Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred.

  • Experience : Minimum one year experience in repair/maintenance boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing and/or general maintenance.

  • Effective Communication Skills

    Ability to function with minimum supervision.

    Ability to read blueprints.

    Ability to read control drawings pertaining to temperature control systems.

    Knowledge of basic computer applications.

    Physical demands including working in 100+ degree environments, lifting objects up to 80 pounds, and work at heights of 20 feet or more from ladders.

    Must have a valid Ohio drivers license.
