Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required after submission).

This role may require floating to additional units and locations

Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >1 mile from facility to be submitted.

Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - IU Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - IU Health.

12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Aya Program - IU Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - IU Health.

Additional Details:

• Prescreen Question: Does RN have experience with voiding trials and/or urogyn surgeries?
• Must have 3-4s in Bariatric Surgery, Thyroidectomy, Bowel Obstruction, and CBI
• General surgery post care 3/4
• Urology and GYN post surgical care 3/4
• Peripheral nerve block catheters
• Surgical drains
• Wound Care/Wound Vac
• SSN required at time of submittal
• DOB required at time of submittal
• You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
• Background Policy to be noted prior to submission so we can seek approval prior to offer

• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

• Weekend coverage every other weekend required.

• Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital/s nearby.

• IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour.
• Department Details: 5C is a 31 bed med-surg unit with a concentration in general surgery, urology, gynecology and bariatric surgery.
• Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics
• Provider Supports: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation
• Patient Population: Post-op, Ortho, Bariatric, Uro-GYN, Colorectal
• No specific charting required for any IU health positions.
• First Time travelers Accepted: Yes.
• Consecutive Contract Policy: Current or past IU travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment anywhere within IU Health are required to take a designated break to reset travel eligibility effective 2/24/26. Out-of-state residents: require a 3 month/90 day break to reset eligibility prior to the travelers year mark. In-state residents require a 6 month/180 day break to reset eligibility prior to the travelers year mark.

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request.
