Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Support the installation, maintenance, and repair of bakery production equipment.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical/electronic testing equipment in compliance with safety regulations and OSHA standards, including proper use of PPE.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues involving components such as motors, transformers, and lighting systems, and implement timely repair or replacement solutions to minimize production disruptions.
• Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance activities to reduce downtime and ensure continuous production flow.
• Perform routine maintenance on critical components, including metal detectors, in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
• Apply a strong understanding of maintenance processes, procedures, and operational standards to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Lead or contribute to maintenance-related projects as needed, working both independently and collaboratively while promoting a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications:

• Broad industrial maintenance experience, with specialization in at least one area: electrical systems, mechanical systems, welding, or PLCs.
• Proficiency in the safe and effective use of maintenance tools and equipment, including the ability to respond to emergency repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals, and effectively train others on their use.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as calipers, programmable controllers, robotics, and other industrial equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues and develop efficient, compliant solutions.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to document, interpret, and communicate technical information clearly, including simplifying complex concepts for non-technical personnel.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to implementing solutions.
• Technical or trade school education, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on training.
• 2-5 years of experience in industrial or plant maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with diagramming or project management tools is a plus.
• Experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment is preferred.
