Position Summary:
The Associate General Counsel role for ELITE Construction is responsible for providing strategic and practical legal guidance across all aspects of the Company’s operations, with a strong emphasis on construction law, risk management, contracts, compliance and dispute resolution. This position will partner closely with executive leadership, operations and other departments within the Company to support business objectives while mitigating legal risk.

Capabilities/ Key Competencies:
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of construction related contracts, including general contractor agreements, subcontracts, vendor contracts, and design-build agreements, utilizing industry-standard forms.
- Identify potential legal risks in projects and operations, developing and implementing proactive mitigation strategies and policies to minimize legal exposure.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations relevant to the construction industry, including OSHA, environmental laws and labor laws.
- Provide expert and strategic legal advice to executive leadership, project managers, and other departments on a broad array of legal issues, translating complex legal concepts into practical business guidance.
- Coordinate effectively with external legal counsel when necessary to handle specialized or high-volume cases.
- Manage corporate governance matters, maintain corporate records, and ensure adherence to corporate policies and ethical standards. Keeping a record of legal documents and proceedings for ELITE Construction.
- Advise the Human Resources department on employment and labor law issues, including contracts, policies, and employee relations.
- Skillset of Construction Management, Estimating, Planning, Reporting, and Communication with Team.
- Provide legal support for real estate matters, including property transactions, leases, and financing agreements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the State Bar of Texas
- 5-7 years of legal experience, specifically construction, real estate, or contract law
- Understanding of construction contracts, claims, liens and dispute resolution
Physical Requirements:
- May be required to lift 20+ pounds
- Requires sitting for extended periods
Preferred Skills:
- Exceptional negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and sound judgment.
- Proficiency with contract management software and project management tools is a plus.
