Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily pressroom operations to consistently achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Oversee the setup, operation, and upkeep of offset and digital printing equipment to ensure reliable performance.
  • Enforce standards for color accuracy, registration, and overall press acceptability.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues, remove bottlenecks, and maintain stable, efficient workflows.
  • Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication and disciplined execution of production schedules.
  • Maintain a strong, hands-on leadership presence on the production floor with a focus on pressroom performance.
  • Champion Lean initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, and maximize equipment utilization.
  • Apply continuous improvement tools such as Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, 5S, Standard Work, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Lead data-driven daily problem-solving using structured countermeasures.
  • Drive both immediate process improvements and longer-term operational transformation initiatives.
  • Build continuous improvement capability within supervisors and operators through coaching and engagement.
  • Own first-pass yield performance, spoilage reduction, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics.
  • Ensure products meet customer and industry requirements through disciplined process control.
  • Partner with Quality and Technical teams to identify and resolve systemic quality issues.
  • Manage labor efficiency, overtime, and material usage to support financial and P&L objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production teams to drive accountability and results.
  • Set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, and reinforce performance standards.
  • Support training, cross-training, and succession planning to strengthen bench strength.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Scheduling to align production plans with capacity, staffing, and demand.
  • Clearly communicate priorities across shifts and functional teams.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable execution on the production floor.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on performance, risks, and improvement progress.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and safe work practices.
  • Lead proactive hazard identification and corrective action initiatives.
  • Model strong safety leadership and reinforce accountability at all levels
  • Safety performance and leading safety indicators

  • Throughput, labor efficiency, and asset utilization

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience, preferably within printing or related environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of offset and/or digital press operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to drive change, operational discipline, and sustained performance improvement.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and people leadership skills.
  • Track record of operational improvements translating into revenue growth and cost reduction.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 20 pounds as required.
  • Work environment includes moving machinery and moderate to high noise levels.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all departments within the facility.
