Security Patrol Officer

We are seeking a dependable and observant Security Patrol Officer to provide a consistent, visible security presence within a residential environment in Durham, NC. This role focuses on routine foot and vehicle patrols to deter criminal activity, enforce site rules, and promote a safe and orderly atmosphere for residents, guests, and property staff.

The ideal candidate is professional, alert, and confident in their ability to act as a deterrent while responding appropriately to incidents and concerns. This position plays a key role in maintaining safety through proactive patrols, clear communication, and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct scheduled and random foot and vehicle patrols of the property and surrounding areas

• Maintain a high-visibility presence to deter theft, vandalism, loitering, and other unauthorized activity

• Monitor for suspicious behavior, safety hazards, and policy violations

• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and resident concerns in a calm and professional manner

• Document daily activities, incidents, and observations in detailed written reports

• Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary

• Enforce property rules and access control procedures as assigned

• Provide courteous assistance and information to residents and authorized visitors

• Observe and report maintenance or safety issues that may impact the site

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong observational and situational awareness skills

• Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional at all times

• Clear verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail

• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and conduct patrols in varying conditions

Requirements:

• Must pass a background check

• Must pass a drug screening

• Must possess a valid NC Guard Card or be able to obtain one prior to assignment

Work Environment:
This position includes indoor and outdoor patrol duties, including foot and vehicle patrols of common areas, corridors, parking areas, and surrounding grounds. Shifts may include evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, with work performed in varying weather conditions
