Job Description
The Plasmids Scientist I plays a pivotal role in supporting all aspects of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within the Clinical Manufacturing Facility. Collaborating with the Manager of Plasmids Operations and staff, the Scientist I will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Plasmid Core production, including executing production processes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring facility and equipment upkeep. This position is integral to delivering products efficiently, compliantly, and responsibly by adhering to batch records and Standard Operating Procedures for manufacturing biological products.
Responsibilities
- Support Plasmids resources and supply chain by ordering and maintaining materials inventory to meet production goals.
- Ensure daily operational activities related to GMP manufacturing of biological products by verifying the availability of materials with proper documentation.
- Collaborate with Plasmids management to identify and meet continuous improvement objectives using metrics and statistical analyses.
- Operate, calibrate, validate, and clean facility equipment and systems as specified in Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in reviewing, revising, remediating, and controlling process documentation and changes.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Science Field.
- Understanding of GMP, tissue culture, biology, microbiology, mammalian and eukaryotic cell culture, cell biology, molecular biology, and ELISA.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques, cell culture, and liquid separation techniques.
- Prior experience in drug compounding, drug manufacturing, or food manufacturing/FDA with GMP or GLP experience.
- Long-term interest in Cell/Gene Therapy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience leading projects and developing others is preferred.
- Prior cell-based experience, either mammalian or eukaryotic cell, is preferred.
- Comfortable occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 lbs.
Work Environment
The work environment is team-oriented and diverse, with a strong focus on collaboration and growth. The position involves significant time spent in the lab and clean rooms, requiring gowning up as needed. Casual lab attire is expected, including closed-toed shoes, ankle-covering socks, khaki pants or jeans without holes, and shirts without large graphics. The shift is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
