Job Title: EstimatorJob Description
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately reading blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to understand the scope of work for preparing bid documents, correspondence, and estimates. You will stay up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction while navigating and understanding building codes and site-related regulations. Your expertise will help prepare preliminary budget forecasts on schematic or progress designs for preconstruction design teams, working closely with architects and other professionals throughout the project.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an up-to-date file or library of bids, engineering firms, trade contractors/suppliers, material, and equipment brochures and catalogues.
- Coordinate and conduct contractor pre-bid meetings onsite or online.
- Communicate effectively with key contractors/bidders during bids.
- Prepare bid documents for construction projects with preconstruction design teams and external engineers.
- Evaluate offers to purchase based on site requirements, additions, and costing changes.
- Resolve cost differences by analyzing and collecting information.
- Identify potential value engineering and cost-saving options.
- Write and present budgets, reports, and project plans for supervisor review.
- Schedule meetings with clients, site managers, and staff as required.
- Process paperwork and travel to building sites as necessary.

Work Environment
The work environment includes interacting with architects and various professionals, both internally and externally, throughout the project. It may require traveling to building sites and scheduling meetings with clients, site managers, and staff as needed. The role involves both onsite and online coordination of contractor pre-bid meetings, maintaining close communication with contractors and bidders, and ensuring that all processes align with the latest building codes and site-related regulations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $5000.00/hr.
