Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Orthopedic Technologist to support orthopedic physicians and clinical staff in providing high-quality musculoskeletal care. The Orthopedic Technologist will assist with orthopedic procedures, apply and remove casts and splints, prepare patients for examinations, and ensure efficient clinic operations while maintaining excellent patient care standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist orthopedic physicians during examinations and minor procedures

  • Apply, remove, and adjust casts, splints, braces, and orthopedic devices

  • Prepare patients for orthopedic evaluations and procedures

  • Perform cast room duties, including molding, trimming, and repairing casts

  • Educate patients on cast care, brace usage, and post-procedure instructions

  • Maintain orthopedic instruments, supplies, and equipment

  • Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)

  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

  • Collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, and providers to support clinic workflow

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Technologist or Orthopedic Technician training program preferred

  • Minimum [1–3] years of experience in an orthopedic or clinical setting preferred

  • Knowledge of casting techniques, orthopedic devices, and musculoskeletal anatomy

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Certifications (Preferred )

  • Orthopedic Technologist Certification (OTC) or equivalent preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • Strong patient care and communication skills

  • Skills & CompetenciesAttention to detail and manual dexterity

  • Ability to lift, position, and assist patients as needed

  • Team-oriented with a professional and compassionate approach

  • Proficiency with EMR systems preferred
