Job Title: Customer Quality Engineering Supervisor
Location: Canal Winchester, OH
Job Summary
We are seeking a Customer Quality Engineering Supervisor to oversee mass production quality issues, lead system improvements, and support customer-facing quality initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong engineering knowledge, experience with injection molding, and the ability to lead teams, audits, and problem-solving activities while strengthening internal and customer relationships.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 4 years of experience in quality engineering within injection molding
Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings and blueprints
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
Leadership experience with ability to supervise techs, auditors, and engineering teams
Ability to travel up to 30%
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, PQS, PPAP, and other core customer quality documentation
Familiarity with IATF standards and system improvement initiatives
Knowledge of quality tools such as LPA, PDCA, 8D, 5-Why, Process Flow Diagrams, and Mind Maps
Experience handling customer complaints, escalations, and countermeasure development
Experience leading Gemba walks, quality audits, or floor-level quality checks
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Lead and manage quality system improvements, engineering countermeasures, and chronic defect meetings
Conduct daily Gemba walks and perform quality audits on the production floor
Maintain and review databases, tracking systems, and documentation for customer quality issues
Evaluate engineering work and ensure accuracy of quality documentation
Serve as primary contact for customer quality engineers and manage customer complaints
Support and supervise quality techs and auditors
Manage internal findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Support PFMEA, Control Plans, and PQS documentation, including lessons-learned reviews
Assist with customer audits and ensure containment procedures are followed
Track KPIs, interpret results, and develop action plans to improve quality metrics
Maintain positive relationships with customers, internal teams, and cross-functional groups
Physical and Environment Requirements
Physical expectations may include sitting or standing for extended periods, performing audits on the production floor, and limited lifting as needed. A company cell phone is provided, and reasonable availability is expected during off-hours, travel, or vacation periods.
