Overview
PhD or MD/PhD researcher to join the Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Open rank research faculty member at the PhD level; funded researchers with backgrounds in basic, clinical, or decision science related to vascular disease will be considered. The opportunity collaborates within the Division of Vascular Diseases & Surgery, the Department of Surgery, the Heart and Vascular Center, the Davis Heart and Lung Institute, and the University to develop translational multidisciplinary projects.

Duties And Responsibilities- Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies; develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding to support research program; obtains and maintains NIH R01 or equivalent funding
- Writes and publishes research in high-quality peer-reviewed journals; presents at national and international conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation
- Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in department, college and university committees and initiatives
- PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field
- Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research
- Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer-reviewed journals (preferred)
- Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01)
- Academic experience a plus
- Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level rank and salary commensurate with training and experience
