Lab Assistant

Piedmont Rockdale is a 161-bed, acute care, not-for-profit community hospital in Conyers that has provided compassionate, patient-centered care to Rockdale County and surrounding communities since 1954. We offer 24-hour emergency care, plus most major medical, surgical and diagnostic services.

Schedule: 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. with rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities: Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks. Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs is Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required

Additional Licenses and Certifications

• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is Preferred
