Litigation Paralegal
Our law Firm is currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of a Paralegal. This role will be responsible for working closely with attorneys and other legal professionals to conduct the day-to-day operations of the law office, provide administrative support, and ensure compliance with client and legal regulations. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.Responsibilities:* Assist attorneys by providing clerical and research support services.* Conduct document preparation and review, research, investigations, and fact-checking.* Prepare for trials, including the drafting of legal documents such as routine pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories.* File motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.* Meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.* Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources, providing written analysis to attorneys.* Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, including evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items.* Develop and maintain records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.* Perform administrative services to support the legal team and ensure compliance with legal regulations.* Provide exceptional customer service and communication with clients and team members.* Maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and good judgment, and manage sensitive information.* Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Prior legal experience preferred but not required.
* Excellent writing, proofreading, customer service, and communication skills.
* Ability to take direction and work independently.
* Highly organized and detail oriented.
* Comfortable operating and learning computer programs and web-based systems.
* Knowledge of the Mortgage Default industry is a plus but not required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
* Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred.
* 2+ years of working experience as a paralegal.
* Title experience a plus
