Job Description

The Reynolds and Reynolds Company is seeking a Product Development Attorney for its in-house automotive documents development and compliance team. As a Product Development Attorney,  you will research and analyze current legal, compliance, and best practices requirements for documents used in motor vehicle dealerships across all U.S. jurisdictions. You will be responsible for revising existing Reynolds documents as well as creating new forms to be used in the dealership F&I documentation process. Additional responsibilities include helping the sales force by comparing other dealer F&I documents to standard Reynolds forms, as well as identifying product gaps, industry trends, and specific sales opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, draft, and update automotive documents (e.g., Retail Installment Sale Contracts, Lease Contracts, Buyer’s Orders, Ancillary F&I documents) to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze legislation and regulations across 50+ jurisdictions for impact on products and services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, outside counsel , and industry leaders to align products with industry trends and compliance needs.
  • Assist with the LAW® F&I Document Review program and other product lines supporting dealership sales and finance processes.
  • Draft summaries, articles, and presentations for public distribution.
  • Represent Reynolds and the LAW® brand at industry trade shows and conferences as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and a license to practice in at least one U.S. state.
  • 5–10 years’ relevant experience — automotive sales/finance preferred; experience in consumer finance, lending, leasing, compliance, or regulatory affairs also considered.
  • Strong research, writing, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure documents maintain a consistent tone and style.

Benefits:
