Description: 

This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon the candidate's qualifications:

Application Developer I ($83,366.40 - $116,313.60 Annually)
Responsible for assisting with the design, development, and delivery of application solutions within the Microsoft cloud ecosystem. Provides support to Metro Water Recovery technology environments such as SharePoint, Power Platform, IT ticketing systems, etc. This position reports to the Cloud Solutions Architect Manager.

Application Developer II ($94,931.20 - $138,028.80 Annually)
Responsible for creating design, development, and delivery of complex application solutions within the Microsoft cloud ecosystem. Utilizes more complex technology coding techniques. Provides support to Metro Water Recovery technology environments such as SharePoint, Power Platform, IT ticketing systems, etc. This position reports to the Cloud Solutions Architect Manager.

Qualifications:

Application Developer I: 

Knowledge of:

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Online and its use in workflows, document management, and app integration
  • Basic computer programming languages 
  • Programming design, development and support
  • General office processes and procedures
  • MS Office software

Skilled at:

  • Basic Troubleshooting issues
  • Leveraging diverse modes of communication to optimize the effective exchange of ideas and information
  • Learning new concepts quickly 
  • Documenting technical work
  • Utilizing technology to seek and share resources and information
  • Active and empathic listening skills

Ability to:

  • Build and configure functional business applications using low-code tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Create user-friendly interfaces, responsive forms, and basic dashboards or reports
  • Quickly learn and apply new tools and concepts in a structured development environment
  • Work effectively in a Microsoft-centric development environment, adapting to tools like Power Platform, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams
  • Adhering to governance policies, security standards, and procedural guidelines
  • Transition from low-code to hybrid or traditional development over time as needed
  • Meet deadlines and contribute to collaborative project efforts
  • Follow best practices and keep updated on industry trends
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Perform effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Identify problems, craft effective solutions, act decisively and demonstrate good judgement
  • Maintain emotional control under ambiguous and stressful circumstances

Education
High school diploma or GED. 

Application Developer II:
Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft development environments, especially Power Platform, SharePoint Online, .NET (C#), and SQL Server
  • Web development standards (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and basic application integration using REST APIs
  • Understanding object-oriented programming, relational database concepts, and form-based application logic
  • Version control tools (e.g., Git) and tracking changes in shared environments
  • Programming design, development, and support
  • General office processes and procedures
  • MS Office software

Skilled at:

  • Developing user interfaces and business logic using Microsoft technologies and standard web languages
  • Build and deploy applications in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, with a focus on maintainability and alignment with internal IT governance
  • Adhering to governance policies, security standards, and procedural guidelines
  • Gathering and analyzing requirements to produce technical specifications or user stories
  • Leveraging diverse modes of communication to optimize the effective exchange of ideas and information
  • Utilizing technology to seek and share resources and information
  • Active and empathic listening skills

Ability to:

  • Interpret business needs and translate them into functional solutions that comply with organizational policies, security requirements, and technical standards.
  • Works both independently and collaboratively to deliver assigned tasks on time and in accordance with project standards

Education
Associate's degree in computer science. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
