The Opportunity

Vice President Operations, Poudre Valley Hospital & Medical Center of the Rockies

The Vice President of Operations for Poudre Valley Hospital & Medical Center of the Rockies will be an integral member of the leadership team and critical to the continued financial success of the hospital's mission and organizational objectives.

The Vice President of Operations is tasked with overseeing and managing a comprehensive portfolio of programs and services across all sites within the division, encompassing the entire continuum of care. The Vice President is tasked with implementing divisional strategic plans, leading the execution of the annual operating plan, and assisting senior leadership in achieving key performance indicators related to quality, safety, patient experience, employee engagement, efficiency, and financial outcomes. Operating within a highly matrixed structure, the Vice President collaborates closely with enterprise service line leaders, corporate services, and physician leaders to drive standardization and best practices.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer, Northern Colorado Region

Responsibilities
    • Collaborates with executive leadership to determine organizational priorities and goals. Researches and monitors industrial, professional and national developments. Integrates data from multiple sources to support decision making.
    • Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide business processes, support the delivery of services, and ensure a culture of quality and satisfaction.
    • Monitors and evaluates operations to ensure compliance with established professional, regulatory, and organizational standards/requirements.
    • Develop and manage department budgets, ensuring financial accountability and resource optimization.
    • Promote an environment of ongoing education, teamwork, and staff growth.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute innovative solutions and process enhancements.
    • Cultivates an active network of relationships inside and outside of the organization and be a forward-facing representative of the hospital facility.

    The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

    Education/Certification
  • A master's degree in health administration, business administration or relevant field
  • Minimum of five years of progressive operations leadership experience, with a proven record of success in a health system.
  • Strong vision, strategic planning, customer service, collaboration, change management, and communication skills are required.
  • Experience in matrixed reporting relationships and possess strong collaboration skills to foster relationships across UCHealth

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
  • Comprehensive and thorough understanding of all elements of health care delivery, including strategy, business planning, construction and capital projects, operations, and finances coupled with an ability to effectively respond to elements that drive competitive advantage under dynamic conditions, such as health care industry changes, competitor actions, legal/regulatory changes, and technological trends.
  • Consistently demonstrates and encourages a commitment to quality, patient-centeredness, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Leadership fosters a climate of excellence, integrity, respect, and trust, motivating others to achieve organizational goals and handling ambiguity effectively.
  • Effectively manages and interacts with diverse groups both within and outside of the health system.
  • Demonstrates ongoing commitment to meeting diversity, equity, and inclusion goals in recruitment, selection, and development of staff.

Pay: $227,510 - $341,265 annual base pay. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
