Job Description

Derek Auto Repair is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician with strong skills in vehicle electronics and diagnostics. We are a busy, well-established repair shop focused on quality work, accurate diagnostics, and honest service.

This position is ideal for a technician who is comfortable working with modern vehicles and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems

• Perform advanced diagnostics using scan tools and testing equipment

• Troubleshoot:

  • Check engine lights

  • Electrical faults

  • Sensors, modules, wiring, and CAN systems

• Perform general mechanical repairs including:

  • Brakes

  • Suspension

  • Cooling systems

  • Engine and drivetrain repairs

• Accurately document findings and recommended repairs

• Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of automotive repair experience

• Strong experience with electrical and electronic diagnostics

• Ability to read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools

• Experience with scan tools, multimeters, and diagnostic software

• ASE certification preferred (not required)

• Valid driver’s license

• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented

Preferred Experience

• European vehicles (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi) a plus

• Advanced diagnostics / module programming experience a plus

• Experience with modern vehicles and hybrid systems
