Illuminate USA is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support our sourcing and purchasing operations at our growing manufacturing facility in the Columbus, Ohio area. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials to keep production running smoothly.
This position is ideal for someone early in their procurement career who is ready to gain hands-on experience, collaborate across departments, and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with day-to-day procurement activities including issuing purchase orders and tracking delivery schedules
Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, lead times, and order status
Help coordinate RFQs and gather quotes from vendors to support purchasing decisions
Work with internal teams (operations, logistics, and finance) to ensure material availability aligns with production needs
Follow up on delayed orders and help resolve delivery or quality issues with suppliers
Maintain accurate procurement records and assist with invoice and payment reconciliation
Track purchasing data and help identify opportunities for cost savings or supplier consolidation
Support compliance with internal purchasing policies and documentation standards
Participate in team meetings and cross-functional projects as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred
13 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain support (manufacturing environment a plus)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus
Eagerness to learn and grow within a collaborative procurement team
