We are looking for a Sr. Project Manager to manage various complex technology projects, business process reengineering (BPR) of complex enterprise systems, and technology product evaluations. This position will be full-time contract and onsite in Alexandria, Virginia.
What Youll Do
Oversee the day-to-day responsibility of managing BPR and Information Technology projects
Communicate with sponsoring organizations to assist in needs assessment, scope definition, risk, and process improvement analyses
Draft specifications, review proposals, define work plans, manage tasks, oversee deliverables, and track the status of systems integration and/or development
Review project proposals and plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allot available resources to various project phases
Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams through project launch, system selection, integration, data conversion/migration, QA/QC testing, training, and system implementation to ensure projects are on schedule and within the prescribed budget
Implement best practices and project management methodologies appropriate to the project scope
Develop and manage project schedules using project management tools such as Primavera Scheduler, MS Project, Project Scheduler, or similar
Review status reports prepared by contractors and project personnel to modify schedules or plans as required
Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others
Confer with project team members to provide technical advice and resolve problems
Perform power system engineering and deployment management
Manage software quality assurance testing, error reporting, correction, and verification
Maintain databases for recording software errors and corrections for each project
Outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project members
Conduct regular project meetings with contractors and stakeholders to monitor progress and disseminate actions required
Proactively solve problems to ensure milestones are met and projects are completed on time and within budget
Conduct and evaluate post-mortems to improve future projects
Ensure and maintain a long-term outlook for the systems represented
Manage project issues, revise plans as necessary, and communicate changes to project team members
Maintain close contact with project sponsors, ensuring a shared vision, stakeholder buy-in, and project support
Continuously improve management, technical, analytical, and business skills
Prepare and evaluate proposals/solicitations
What You'll Need
Required:
Recent verifiable experience working on large-scale technology projects with demonstrated knowledge of voice, data, and power systems
Minimum of seven (7) years of Information Technology Project Management experience and consulting experience
Proven track record managing successful large enterprise system implementation projects involving current information technologies and/or SPA
Designing low and high-voltage AC/DC power systems
Formal training and experience in Project Management, estimating, cost and schedule management, variance reporting, and electronic project management tools such as Primavera, MS Project, and Project Scheduler
Familiarity with Internet access, email, and web hosting technologies
Preferred:
Extensive knowledge of system integration, testing, and change management
Ability to quickly gain knowledge of business process analysis and benchmarking techniques
Ability to apply technology to solve business problems
Ability to understand computer software at the "power user" level. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, databases, and ability to master new programs quickly
Strong ability to lead and influence
Ability to gather appropriate information and make sound decisions
Ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies and products
Ability to work with others as a team to ensure strong customer relationships and satisfaction
Ability to track and organize multiple projects and/or a single large project, including project team activities
Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision

$60p/h - $65p/hThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
