Family Law Attorney (Florida-Licensed)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney licensed to practice in the State of Florida to handle a full range of domestic relations matters. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Florida family law statutes, local court procedures, and client advocacy from initial consultation through final hearing or trial.

Required Qualifications

  • Active license and good standing with The Florida Bar (mandatory)

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Minimum [X] years of experience practicing family law in Florida (preferred)

  • Strong working knowledge of Florida Statutes Chapter 61, Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure, and local administrative orders

  • Experience appearing before Florida circuit court judges and magistrates

  • Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage a full caseload independently

Core Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in family law matters, including:

    • Dissolution of marriage (contested and uncontested)

    • Child custody and time-sharing disputes

    • Child support and alimony

    • Paternity actions

    • Modifications and enforcement proceedings

    • Domestic violence injunctions

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, memoranda, settlement agreements, and proposed orders

  • Appear at hearings, mediations, case management conferences, and trials

  • Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and strategy under Florida law

  • Conduct discovery, depositions, and trial preparation

  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court

  • Maintain accurate case records and comply with ethical obligations under Florida Bar rules

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Orange, Osceola, Seminole, or other Florida circuits (or specify your jurisdiction)

  • Trial experience in family law cases

  • Familiarity with e-filing through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal

  • Experience with mediation and settlement negotiations

  • Proficiency in case management software (e.g., CLIO, MyCase, PracticePanther)
