Job Description The Engineering Test Technician is responsible for setting up and executing test cases to validate new high-power AC power products such as UPS systems, Static Switches, PDUs, and related equipment. These products may have regional or global scope. The technician will configure units under test and instrumentation according to test plans, operate the equipment, collect data, and document results. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and active participation in daily team activities. Responsibilities
- Set up units under test and associated equipment, including connecting large cables up to 50 lbs.
- Configure and operate instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, power meters, CTs, and voltage probes.
- Execute test cases, operate units under test, collect data, and accurately document results.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test setups and units under test.
- Maintain compliance with 5S and safety policies in all work areas.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and contribute to lab cleanliness and safety.
- Identify and suggest opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Associate degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent military certification.
- 15 years of relevant experience in electrical testing or related field.
- Broad knowledge of electrical and mechanical test techniques.
- Hands-on experience with 208/230/480V/600V 3-phase (50/60 Hz) and 120V single-phase wiring and equipment.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and low-voltage wiring.
- Proficient in electrical safety tools and techniques.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for AC and DC power circuits.
- Bachelor's or associate degree in Electronics.
- 2+ years of electronics experience.
- Electronic testing experience.
- Knowledge of electrical circuitry.
- General mechanical aptitude for assembling/disassembling electrical equipment, including high-power electronics, magnetic components, circuit boards, and high-current wiring.
