New Model Engineer
Job Description

The New Model Engineer will collaborate with body design from the feasibility through the design phase to achieve a product that can be manufactured within the factorys capabilities. This role involves working with MMCs to prepare and execute the trial phase of the new model development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies on new technologies, design concepts, and equipment.
  • Review drawings with internal teams and customers to verify design accuracy.
  • Identify past model problem history and explore opportunities for cost savings and safety improvements.
  • Communicate change points to other departments effectively.
  • Issue countermeasure request forms to the R&D Department to enhance quality, cost, delivery, safety, and assembly.
  • Develop and present project status updates, change points, and recommendations.
  • Identify and document trial problems, discussing countermeasures.
  • Support quality problem resolution and recommend countermeasures.
  • Assist in equipment installations and robot programming.
  • Support build event preparation and execution.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience based on education, or 6 years required without a relevant degree.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of robotics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with CATIA V5 is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in New Model Automotive or Automotive Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of simulation, CATIA, automated equipment, DELMIA, automotive engineering, new model, process engineering, process safety.
  • Experience coming from an automotive supplier is beneficial.
Work Environment

The position involves working within a team of approximately 64 engineers in the PEDx team. The role is based in a research and development environment, with responsibilities also on-site at the plants.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Marysville, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
