The Account Consultant Pharmacist is responsible for evaluating clinical and financial drug data to support formulary management for client. This role involves reviewing clinical studies, drug utilization trends, and cost analyses to develop custom drug criteria and make strategic recommendations for formulary placement. Position ensures timely and accurate delivery of formulary updates and required reports and actively participates in Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) meetings.
Positions in this function manage and support ongoing relationship with client. Build client relationship and serve as outward-facing primary point of contact for overall and day-to-day service delivery (e.g., formulary management, clinical inquiries, program implementation/review) for pharmacy needs for large/complex state Medicaid program. Manage utilization and ensure program fits the population served.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze clinical data, comparative drug reports, cost metrics, and utilization trends to develop evidence-based drug criteria
- Recommend drug placement strategies for client formulary based on clinical and financial evaluations
- Prepare and deliver error-free quarterly drug formulary reflecting approved changes from P&T meetings
- Attend and actively contribute to in-person quarterly P&T meetings
- Generate and submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as contractually required
- Present findings and updates to clients confidently; serve as a backup for the account manager when needed
- Review weekly MediSpan drug files to assess coverage status of newly released medications

Required Qualifications:
- PharmD
- Current and active Pharmacist license without restrictions
- 2+ years of experience with and knowledge in the clinical therapeutic groupings of drugs using various data elements through drug information databases (First DataBank or MediSpan)
- Experience in formulary management, clinical data analysis, and/or managed care pharmacy
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams and client-facing environments
- MBA, MHA or MPA, or other advanced business degree or comparable work experience
- Working knowledge of CMS rules, regulations, and guidance regarding Medicaid
- Proficiency with reporting tools (Excel)
- Proven solid analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a role that requires accuracy & quality assurance in data delivery
- Medicaid Drug Rebate Program knowledge (MDRP)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
