Head Start Lead Teacher – Ottawa Full Day

The HHWP Community Action Commission is seeking a full-time Lead Teacher for our Head Start Preschool program at our Ottawa location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining a comprehensive education program at the classroom level in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Ohio Day Care Licensing, and Agency policies and procedures. Lead Teachers work 40 hours per week and start at $20.97/ hour or $25.83/hour, depending on an individual’s education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Overall Requirement : Must be sensitive to the needs of low-income individuals and able to work with individuals of all cultural backgrounds and ages. Must adhere to values of the HHWP CAC, including Advocacy, Professionalism, and Partnership. Must be committed to the Agency’s mission to reduce the conditions of poverty by providing comprehensive services to improve lives.

Minimum Education: Associate degree from an accredited university in Early Childhood Education, bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience: One year of working within a preschool environment is preferred.

Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, maintain the state minimum amount of automobile liability insurance, as well as the ability to meet and maintain all funding source requirements. Must be able to lift 75 pounds occasionally.
