OverviewThe Pipeline Routing Specialist plays a critical role in the planning and design of pipeline corridors. This position is responsible for developing efficient and constructible routing solutions that balance technical requirements, environmental considerations, land constraints, and survey data. As a multidisciplinary problem-solver, the Specialist works closely with Engineering, GIS, Survey, Land, and Environmental teams to ensure alignment in design and execution.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize pipeline routes using GIS tools, design criteria, and regulatory constraints.
Collaborate with engineering and environmental teams to evaluate constructability, permitting requirements, and impact mitigation.
Integrate survey data, land records, and spatial analysis to inform routing decisions.
Facilitate cross-discipline coordination and host routing workshops or review sessions.
Prepare routing exhibits, and technical memos for internal and external stakeholders.
Support land acquisition efforts by providing parcel-level route impacts and alternative considerations.
Use decision-making frameworks to identify and communicate route risks and opportunities.
Assure all routing activities align with project goals, compliance standards, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
General
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
6–8 years of experience in pipeline design, GIS analysis, energy infrastructure, or related field.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, spatial analysis, and GIS data management.
Familiarity with pipeline engineering principles, environmental permitting, and land acquisition workflows.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experience preparing technical documentation and mapping for internal review and client submittals.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Compensation : In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
