The Opportunity
The Creative Lead for Pediatric Brands, reports to Associate Creative Director, Pediatric Brands, within Abbott Nutritions Internal Agency, Creative + Digital Services (CDS). The Creative Lead, is responsible for helping in the creation of high-quality creative concepts and tactics based on campaign/brand strategy and direction across all marketing channels (Digital, Print, Shopper, OOH, HCP, CRM etc.). The role provides creative solutions and leadership of copywriters and graphic designers from creative ideation through production and ensures brand standards are met across various media outlets that uphold campaign integrity and that ladder into the brief. This role will need to work effectively with the Strategic Planning Team, outside agencies, and brand partners in the development of advertising campaigns/promotional programs, strategies, and tactics for assigned Abbott Nutrition products.
What Youll Work On
Creative Leadership & Direction
- Conceptualize, develop, and manage best in class creative products.
- Translate brand needs and strategies into high-quality design solutions and creative strategies.
- Provide creative direction and problem-solving aligned to briefs and brand identity.
- Lead ideation through execution to final delivery, ensuring work meets or exceeds expectations.
- Determine creative approach and execution strategy for each assignment.
- Help manage the creative process and ensure alignment with timelines and strategic goals. Creative Studio Team Mentorship
- Manage and direct creative staff, including full-time and contract personnel.
- Provide leadership, motivation, and mentoring to the creative team.
- Support the Associate Creative Director (ACD), including coverage when unavailable.
- Assist ACD in evaluating team performance and development.
- Proactively inform ACD on progress and creative decisions.
- Coach creative staff and ensure quality output, including reevaluating staffing, funding, and procedures. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Strategic Planning team to gather relevant information and align teams to briefs.
- Provide input on creative briefs to ensure clarity and executability.
- Build credibility and trust with cross-functional partners to drive results. Client Engagement & Presentation
- Understand client vision and translate goals into compelling creative solutions.
- Play an active role in shaping new opportunities for the creative group, including expanding client relationships.
- Lead presentations of creative strategy, concepts, and work-in-progress to partners and clients.
- Participate in and drive brainstorming sessions for communication tactics with key clients. Design Execution & Quality Control
- Apply brand identity systems, typography, photography, color, and other design elements to create innovative visual solutions.
- Ensure consistency in design and content across all company platforms.
- Provide quality control on completed projects to ensure design excellence and production accuracy.
- Educate team members (beyond creative staff) through project development and performance management. Brand Stewardship
- Act as a Brand Identity Champion for both product and corporate branding.
- Contribute to the development of the Creative Services culture and uphold quality standards.
- Use artistic sensibility and strategic direction to ensure superior creative output
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ Years advertising agency experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative content across marketing channels (Digital, Shopper, OOH, TV, Print, Social Media etc.)
- Proficiency in content creation tools and software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro).
- Excellent visual design skills and a keen eye for aesthetics and details relevant in the social space.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive and creative mindset with a passion for storytelling.
