General Practice Veterinarian (Veterinarian)

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned veterinary hospital seeking a dedicated Associate Veterinarian to join their friendly and experienced team. This long-standing small animal practice has been serving the community since 1959 and is proud to continue its legacy of high-quality, affordable veterinary care for dogs, cats, and the occasional rabbit. The hospital operates from a modern 4,000-square-foot facility built in 2011, offering a comfortable, calm environment where pets and their owners feel welcomed and supported.

Working Hours / Rota
This position offers flexibility for full-time or part-time work. Full-time hours average between 32 and 36 per week, with part-time options available. The hospital's appointment schedule runs from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Doctors receive one week day off per week and work every other Saturday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Surgeries are typically performed in the mornings, followed by a two-hour midday break - one hour for lunch and one for administrative catch-up. After hours emergencies are referred an an Emergency Clinic, so there are no on call/ out of hours requirements.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to small animal patients. Typical procedures include wellness exams, general surgeries, and dental care, with the opportunity for a veterinarian to introduce additional services such as orthopedics or Eastern medicine if desired. Appointment lengths and scheduling flexibility are adjusted based on the doctor's experience level, supported by a skilled, hands-on technical team. While the role is best suited for veterinarians with a few years of experience, new graduates may be considered, though mentorship availability may be intermittent due to the hospital's small team structure.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools including digital radiography, digital dental radiography, IDEXX in-house blood analyzers, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, and a PulseVet shock wave machine. The facility features four exam rooms, all with lift tables, an isolation area, and private offices for doctors. Electronic medical records are maintained using Intravet software. The hospital follows AAHA standards of care, though it is not formally accredited. Services offered include general medicine, surgery, dentistry, wellness care, and preventative medicine.

Team
The team consists of approximately 15 members, including 1.5 to 2 veterinarians (with the owner DVM working part-time), three kennel staff, receptionists, an office manager, and many veterinary assistants. Many team members have been with the practice for over 20 years, contributing to a cohesive, loyal, and welcoming workplace. The culture is described as friendly, team-oriented, and drama-free, where collaboration and reliability are valued.

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
