Cnc Machinist ll

Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Pay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience)
Positions Open: 2 (1 Mills / 1 Lathes)

POSITION SUMMARY

The General Machinist II sets up and operates machine tools to manufacture or repair precision metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines. Working under minimal supervision, this role requires the ability to read blueprints, edit or write simple CNC programs, and maintain tolerances to blueprint specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, charts, and tables to determine machining requirements.

• Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of CNC and manual machines (mills or lathes).

• Work to tight tolerances and specified dimensions.

• Edit existing CNC programs and write simple programs as needed.

• Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto machines.

• Monitor speed, feed, and tooling conditions during the machining process.

• Inspect and verify dimensions using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications.

• Perform minor maintenance and adjustments on machinery and tooling.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum 3–5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency with both CNC and manual machining.

• Ability to edit and write simple CNC programs.

• Experience working with FANUC and/or HAAS controls preferred.

• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.

• Skilled in measuring and verifying part dimensions to tight tolerances.

• Solid understanding of feeds, speeds, and tooling requirements.

• Detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently or in a team setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

• Frequent exposure to noise, oil, and metalworking environments.

• Must wear appropriate PPE and follow safety guidelines at all times.
