+ About the job:
The Lead Grant Analyst will provide post-award financial and administrative support for sponsored projects while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. This role oversees staff, develops policies, and partners with faculty and administrators to ensure accurate and timely grant management.

+ We’re looking for someone who:
• Has a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in contract and grant administration or higher education (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Possesses thorough knowledge of financial record-keeping, accounting methods, and compliance regulations (FAR, CFR, federal cost principles, F&A costs)
• Can analyze and interpret financial data and prepare accurate reports
• Excels at problem-solving, decision-making, and ensuring regulatory compliance
• Communicates clearly and provides excellent customer service
• Can set priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments
• Has experience supervising, training, and guiding staff
• Is proficient with spreadsheets, databases, and financial reporting systems
• (Preferred) Brings experience with federal and state grants in higher education, PeopleSoft, and prior supervisory experience

+ What you’ll do:
• Provide post-award support including account setup, expenditure approvals, and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and guidelines
• Participate in award setup meetings with principal investigators and Sponsored Programs staff
• Review and monitor project budgets, expenditures, and indirect cost allocations
• Oversee invoicing, reporting, and distribution of financial reports to stakeholders
• Advise faculty and administrators on grant requirements and compliance standards
• Lead workshops, training, and office hours for staff and campus stakeholders
• Support audits, variance analysis, and survey preparation (e.g., HERD survey)
• Supervise and develop post-award staff, providing guidance and training as needed
• Assist with policy development, process improvements, and internal controls
• Act as backup to the Post-Award Manager when required
• Promote collaboration, efficiency, and a culture of excellent customer service
