Diesel Fleet Lube Technician
FLSA status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
The Diesel Fleet Lube Technician will perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines by changing oil and filters, checking fluid levels, and lubricating chassis components for vehicles and heavy equipment like trucks, earth movers, and specialized equipment. Responsibilities:
- Perform oil changes.
- Replace oil, air, and fuel filters as part of routine maintenance.
- Lubricate components.
- Inspect and top off various fluids (coolant, brake fluid, and windshield wiper fluid).
- Perform ongoing basic inspections to identify potential problems or worn-out parts.
- Record completed services and any issues found in vehicle maintenance logs.
- Work with senior technicians to ensure proper servicing of vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Understand and follow all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Foundational understanding of diesel engine systems and maintenance.
- Analytical reasoning.
- Attention to detail in detecting and resolving minor issues that could impact overall engine performance.
Education and Experience:
- At least one year of experience working with diesel engines and/or heavy equipment is strongly preferred.
- Previous work experience performing oil changes and other basic maintenance required.
- Clean motor vehicle record and ability to obtain a DOT physical and Chauffeur driver’s license are required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and up to 100 lbs. with help.
- Close vision for inspections, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
- Working indoors in a noisy garage or outdoors in a service truck, which may include exposure to extreme heat, cold, and other weather conditions.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy objects.
- The ability to hear and recognize the difference between sounds, especially to communicate over loud ambient noise from tools and engines.
- Comfortable working around potential hazards such as flammable materials, hot surfaces, loud noises, and chemical fumes.
- Manual dexterity to grip, grasp, and manipulate tools and equipment.
- Remaining on feet for extended periods on concrete or other hard surfaces.
