Position Summary The Commissioning Engineer will lead and support commissioning activities for building systems, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems function as intended. This role involves working closely with project teams, contractors, and owners to verify performance, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement commissioning plans and procedures.
Perform functional performance testing on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls systems.
Conduct site inspections, review installation quality, and verify system documentation.
Collaborate with design teams to identify commissioning requirements during design phase.
Maintain detailed reports, issues logs, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, including LEED and WELL certifications.
Train building operators on system functionality and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
3–7+ years of commissioning, MEP design, or building systems experience.
Knowledge of ASHRAE commissioning guidelines and relevant building codes.
Familiarity with HVAC controls, electrical distribution, and integrated building systems.
Commissioning certification (CxA, BCxP, or similar) preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects.
