Job Description

Job description:

**Remote - New York State Clinical License Required (Residency Not Required)**

At Manhattan Mental Health Counseling, we are redefining what exceptional therapy looks like, raising standards of care while keeping human connection at the heart of everything we do. We believe therapy is both craft and science: teachable, measurable, and profoundly human. We are seeking an experienced NYS Licensed Mental Health Clinical Director to inspire, mentor, and empower our team of therapists, fostering growth and ensuring clients receive the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve.

You will bring a holistic, client-centered approach combined with practical, results-driven leadership, guiding therapists to deliver compassionate care while upholding clinical standards, outcomes, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and operationalize “good therapy”: Establish clear, measurable standards for clinical practice, including client outcomes, session quality, and adherence to evidence-based approaches.
  • Clinical supervision and coaching: Provide individual and group supervision, case consultation, and ongoing coaching to support therapist development and clinical effectiveness.
  • Lead training and professional development: Design and implement programs that drive measurable improvement in therapist skills, client outcomes, and adherence to best practices.
  • Ensure consistent clinical standards: Build and maintain systems and processes that monitor and reinforce high-quality care across all therapists.
  • Quality-focused decision making: Make thoughtful, timely decisions to protect and enhance clinical quality, balancing empathy with accountability.
  • Foster a growth-oriented culture: Promote an environment where accountability is embraced, feedback is constructive, and continuous improvement is the norm.
  • Monitor outcomes and performance: Conduct chart reviews, track client progress, evaluate therapist performance metrics, and use data to guide coaching, training, and clinical improvements.

Qualifications:

  • REQUIRED: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • REQUIRED: Active, unrestricted NEW YORK STATE clinical license (LMHC, LCSW, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years of direct clinical experience
  • Proven experience leading and managing large clinical teams of 80+ therapists
  • Experience in a private practice environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices, clinical documentation standards, and ethical guidelines
  • Experience coaching and mentoring therapists
  • Ability to make tough decisions and maintain accountability while fostering a growth-oriented culture

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $100,000 – $130,000/year, commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • Fully Remote
  • Full-time leadership role with the authority to set and enforce the clinical vision
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Fully remote, telehealth environment
