The Cyber/Tech E&O Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and developing a portfolio of primary and excess cyber liability and technology E&O business across various industries, working within established underwriting guidelines while taking an active part in the development and implementation of our underwriting strategy. This position offers significant learning and professional development opportunities in one of the fastest-growing segments of commercial insurance, with mentorship from seasoned professionals and the chance to be part of a collaborative, high-performing team in the wholesale marketplace.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Underwrite and develop a portfolio of new primary and excess cyber liability and technology E&O business
  • Evaluate and analyze cyber risk exposures across various industries, determining risk acceptability, contractual terms and pricing within company guidelines and underwriting authority
  • Partner with the Head of Cyber to review and manage overall book performance and production results
  • Generate new business opportunities by building and leveraging wholesale broker relationships in assigned territory
  • Support business development efforts by providing responsive service and participating in broker meetings and industry events
  • Prepare quotes and proposals while ensuring compliance with company guidelines
  • Work closely with experienced underwriters and the HEAD OF CYBER to learn market dynamics and contribute to portfolio growth through quality underwriting decisions
  • Represent the company at networking functions and other cyber industry-related events
  • Remain current on legal and regulatory changes and claim development to contribute to portfolio profitability

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, or related field
  • Technology E&O underwriting experience strongly preferred
  • Wholesale/specialty lines experience required
  • Demonstrates contribution to underwriting profit
  • Solid foundation in cyber liability exposures, commercial underwriting principles, and knowledge of the cyber liability external market
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with ability to interpret financial data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; underwriting system experience preferred
  • Independent decision maker who takes responsibility for decisions and their consequences
  • Existing network of wholesale broker relationships preferred, with eagerness to continue developing these relationships
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts
  • Collaborative team player with initiative and drive to continually seek opportunities for portfolio growth
  • Professional demeanor and willingness to travel occasionally for broker meetings and industry events

Pay Range

$100k - $135k Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
