Job Summary and Qualifications

The Quality Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, implementation, improvement, and successful achievement/compliance of core measure indicators in accordance with CMS guidelines. The coordinator maintains and coordinates timely policies and procedures maintenance, review/revision, posting, and distribution. The Coordinator organizes and maintains systematic data collection and flow of information between departments and into applicable committees.

What you will do in this role:

  • Monitor compliance with the Quality program, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate Quality program activities, assist with development and implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure program component necessary for Regulatory Compliance.
  • Conduct staff education for performance improvement and patient safety activities.
  • Participate on PI focus teams and tracer activities.
  • Communicate issues/variances with the Lead Quality Coordinator.
  • Coordinate QM participation throughout the facility.
  • Maintain systematic data collection for monitoring, trending, and reporting of Quality & Pt Safety.
  • Perform QM duties relative to assigned Medical Staff Committees/services.
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Maintain appropriate Quality files.
  • Participate in New Employee Orientation to Quality/Risk.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and physicians regarding Quality & regulatory compliance.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience required.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related leadership position preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to successfully interact with hospital personnel and physicians required.
