Description Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a range of both routine and complex lab tests across various disciplines including chemistry, hematology, and immunology in line with established protocols.
• Assess test results for correctness, troubleshoot any discrepancies, and carry out routine maintenance and calibration on lab equipment.
• Guide specimen collection and properly prepare samples for additional testing when necessary.
• Document procedures meticulously, contribute to the education of new staff or students, and maintain the high standards of lab quality.
• Create a safe and organized laboratory environment in compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.

Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent allied health degree, with a focus on ASCP/AMT certification preparation.

Necessary Certifications

• ASCP or AMT Board Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) to be obtained within the first year of employment.
• Ensure continuous certification while employed.
