The Westerville Electric Division is seeking a Storekeeper with strong organizational, inventory management, purchasing, and service-oriented skills to join a tight-knit team of 47 full-time employees. Westerville's Storekeepers are pivotal to the function, reliability, and affordability of the electricity provided to Westerville's electric customers. The ideal candidate for this position will work independently to ensure that inventory is on hand when needed by field staff. The candidate will design and maintain a safe, efficient, and fully functional warehouse that incorporates state-of-the-art technology and best practices for optimal warehouse and purchasing operations. The Storekeeper will have the opportunity to work alongside lineworkers, arborists, engineers, operators, and traffic and meter technicians while serving as a key member of the Division's business and administrative team.

Under the general supervision of the Electric Utility Business Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining inventory stock for the Division and receiving and sorting incoming items.(May not include all duties performed.)
- Maintain inventory control over stock for the Division; ensure inventory is sufficient to meet departmental needs; monitor supplies and obtain competitive prices; enter and monitor requisitions and communicate with vendors; complete inventory audits; issue supplies, parts, and equipment; maintain accurate inventory, shipments, invoices, and warranties.
- Receive, unpack, sort, and store incoming items into proper storage areas; operate a forklift to load and unload materials and equipment; deliver materials to job sites; maintain order in warehouse and other warehouse facilities, including outdoor stock area.
- Process purchase orders and invoices; maintain purchase records; communicate regularly with vendors, other employees, and departments to ensure consistent compliance with purchasing rules and regulations.
- Recondition recovered stock; make repairs to inventory.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); ascends and/or descends ladders, stairs, or scaffolds; works in an area in which the means of egress is or can be obstructed; works on and around powered platforms and/or vehicle mounted platforms (e.g., manlifts, fire trucks); is exposed to environmental conditions which may result in injury from fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and/or poorly ventilated work areas; is exposed to possible injury from extremely noisy conditions above 85db; is exposed to possible injury as a result of electrical shock; is exposed to possible injury as a result of working with moving mechanical parts of equipment or machines; is exposed to possible injury as a result of falling from high places; and has exposure to shaking objects or surfaces.
Note: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered heavy work.

- Completion of a high school diploma or GED; and
- Related experience is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio vehicle operator's license and remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy.
- Any combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum qualifications stated above.
